Thanksgiving Journal Card Freebies

Ok, so I made these for myself but I am sharing them with you too 🙂 Too often we let the little details go.

For example my Grandmother, Rosa Christie (she’s passed away now) put on a HUGE spread every year for every holiday. I never really liked to cook and never thought to follow her around, so when she passed away, many of those wonderful recipes were lost. Now my Aunt makes most of the Holiday food in her footsteps, to carry on our traditions. And most everything tasts like Grandmas. So this is my chance to record the special foods that we eat.

Many of the foods we eat are of German descent, gamese, german potato salad, the way we make our turnups. We also like to have turkey, baked mac n cheese (totally homemade), gravy, sweet potatos, stuffing, green bean caserole, and spinache. Sometimes we’ll also have mashed potatos, for my husband, or dinner rolls. The one thing we’d be lost without is the Baked Mac and Cheese, everyone’s favorite ;0) And being pregnant and always hungry, I’m really looking forward to our holiday meals!

Anyway, I made these freebies to record our Tradtional Family Foods for the holidays. You can use them as recipe cards or to list what’s on your table. I plan on printing them right up on card stock so I can write on them as I go.

This is a great way to record a tradition we all may take for granted and document something that our children’s children will appreciate being able to see. I kept the colors nuetral for you so that hopefully you can use them with any of your holiday layouts! Also I made wordarts to go with them, I will release them in a couple of days so keep an eye out.

When you TAKE a freebie 🙂 please LEAVE a comment on my blog!  Thanks 🙂

Thanksgiving Digital Scrapbooking Freebies!!

Hi all,
I haven’t written in quite some time, I’m sorry for that. I’ve just felt down in the dumps from this pregnancy, really tired and [grumble, grumble] just flat out cruddy. Getting headaches from the hormone changes etc, so sitting at the computer for long periods of time is sickening, literally. I’m so tired of hearing myself complain that I have to stop now and get on with the good stuff: FREEBIES!!

DigitalArts-Cafe was kind enough to add me to their Circle of Trust, and I was able to have their Holiday Traditions Collaberation Kit to make some freebies for you, yay!

So here is the first in a series of QUICK PAGE FREEBIES.

Thanksgiving Freebie:
Hope your Thanksgiving is full of good food, family and friends!

Pumpkin Time

Well these last couple weeks we have been super busy. I was sick for a week, together with pregnancy, I was lucky to keep my eyes open and on my kids. Couldn’t even sit down without dozing off. Definitely couldn’t sit at the computer. Someone please tell me that tiredness will end soon. I am feeling better. I am in a toddler group here in Vegas and I volunteered to house the Halloween Party 🙂 I think at least 42 people were here (last Saturday). It was pretty fun, the girls had grins from ear to ear and I enjoyed everything. Then Sunday we went to Pumpkin Patch at Discovery. The girls had a great time. And finally today, I got to rest a little.

My 3 year old dressed as a firefighter and my 1 year old was a dalmation puppy. Soooo cute. I’ll write more later, getting tired, again!!

Happy Birthday Alexis

We had a great time at my neices birthday party. We went bowling and then to their favorite pizza joint. It may not sound great but spinach, artichoke and mushroom pizza is goooood. And it’s not just because I’m pregnant, lol. It was really nice visiting with the family and I enjoyed watching all the kids talking and playing, just doing their thing. What a sweet bunch of kids we have in our family. My girls just love their cousins so much too.  Tomorrow I get to go to court for a traffic ticket. That should be fun, not!

Youth Explosion

So I volunteered to make a poster (8ft x 3ft) for Discovery Church’s Youth Ministries. I wanted to make something a little edgy, something that the kids would be proud of. I wanted them to to feel that their religion is pretty darn cool. So, let me know what YOU think!

Special thanks to Ahmed Galal for the inspiration!

Oh yes, and for anyone who doesn’t already know: I’m pregnant! This will be my 3rd what am I going to do??? lol. I would love to hear from any of you moms out there who have had three – what am I in for (the difference between 2 and 3) Talk at ya’all soon 🙂

What’s the hap? …Fixing the kits…

Wonder what’s happening? Well lately I have been busy getting ready to go public with my designs. Right now as you read, I am working on adjusting the quality of my kits. Adding to them, fixing them, I learned that I have to quality check everything to get rid of runaway pixels. I’ve had to do lots of research on copyright infringement and still there is so much more to learn. Also, the patterns I used for my overlays don’t look as SHARP as I’d like, so I put  new overlays on everything. I’ve been creating new and different elements and I’m expanding on the kits I created during the design competition I entered. I’ve been working on my Terms of Use and getting it just right so when people download my product they know exactly what they are allowed to do with it. I’ve been working (only a little though) on trying to figure out what to do with this site to get it ready to Launch! That way when I am all done I will have a nice site (hopefully everyone thinks so) and maybe even get picked up to design for someone else. I can’t wait for you all to see what I’ve done!! I am working with my very best friend on the Site design, which is exciting because she’s a super Web Designer with a great sense of style. It will be exciting to see what she comes up with for my site! I have been spending time with the girls and Jason, swimming and decorating cupcakes (messy babes) and just enjoying my time with them.

Yesterday I overheard my one yr old saying mmmmm, so I looked over and she was puting some toy food into a toy pan (with a car) and pretending to eat it. A couple of days ago we were playing with the toy phone and she was putting the phone up to my ear saying Hi (all cute) and I was saying “Hi dada” and she would say “Hi” then I’d say “Hi sis” and then she said “Hi Coco” That’s my Mom’s dog who she played with every day for a couple of months while my Mom was here trying to close on a short sale home. It was really sweet. Then everytime we go swimming, my 3 year old blows me away. She is diving 8 feet to the bottom of the pool to pick up dive toys! What a fish 🙂 I’ve never seen such a thing and she is so graceful doing it. Anyway, I’m done braggin about my beautiful kids. My brother just got here with some sweets for our sweet toothes, need I say more?

Viewing Thumbnails in Windows Vista. Heaven or Hell?

So as you all know, I’ve had me some computer problems and after the last escapades, don’t ever want to have shutdown problems again so we decided it was time to go out and get a desktop computer for the home office. Great, perfect, we should have no problems now 🙂  However, we were not in the clear yet. Oh yes you heard me right!

For example, DID YOU KNOW, that if you use Windows VISTA, that it no longer shows the old flat folders like XP did. No, it shows new 3D files, ooohhh bells and whistles. What does this mean? Well, for us scrappers it means, no more scrolling through the files looking at the nice big thumbnail picture to determine what file is what, no, now you must look at the 3D file, which looks like a folder standing up with files falling out of it or of course you can read the file names (which takes much longer). So instead of seeing a whole thumbnail of what is in the file, you see papers coming out of the file. These papers are your graphics or documents that are in the file, therefore only seeing a corner of the graphic and yes, they all look the same when all you can see is a mili corner of them. As you can see, this is a travesty for all scrappers alike.

Well this was crap, so I called gateway who made my awesome quad core 64 bit processor with ram coming out the … you know what and enough space on the hard drive to do graphics for just about ever. Their response, sorry ma’am, we can’t help you “personalize” your computer, you need to contact Microsoft. So, I contact Microsoft, they refer me back to Gateway because Gateway owns the warranty on this product, if I want their help I will have to pay someone 50 bucks an hour (or whatever those techno geeks make) to tell me how to get my thumbnails back, in the meantime they can’t even tell me if it is possible to do, ugh! What the hell? So I set off to Google land to explore my options. Somebody, somewhere out there, must know something!  Also, Windows photo gallery does not display psd files. Vista files do not display psd thumbnails (only a Photoshop icon), so here you are stuck trying to figure out what your .psd file is exactly. Is there a fix, well, kinda…

I found this website: http://www.flexbeta.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=8028
and this one: http://www.aeonity.com/david/adobe-photoshop-cs2-thumbnails-psd-file-in-windows-explorer

Both lead to a download that you can use to kind of patch things up, I think. So, out of shear despair, I download the file and follow the directions. Did it work? No. Well why not, it seams to have worked for everyone else, try it again, nope something is definitely wrong. Go read every comment on every site I can find about the Viewing psd thumbnails in Vista. Finally, oh great… None of the patches work for a 64 bit. You’ve got to be kidding me. Some people have been looking for something for a year – only to have no results and have given up. How sad.

Ahhh haaaa, but what is this, a website with a cure for 64 bit, check it out:

http://www.youjoomla.com/support-forums/adobe-photoshop-forum/7123-photoshop-thumbnail-preview-64-bit-vista-and-xp.html

After you follow the direction you have to open each file in Photoshop 7 and make an alteration of some sort and then Voila, magic is suppose to happen. So, did it fix it? Well KINDA! Some files show the thumbnail, and some don’t. Ugghghg, gag, pheewwwwie. What kind of people make these new programs and don’t think to make sure the thumbnail is supported, whatever! So, if you have a 64 bit, you’re in the same boat as me, sucks to be us. On the other hand, there is an ultimate solution. Your computer may come with a way to reduce it from 64 bit to 32 bit. But if you do that, you will lose your quad core, your 4 lines of communication that make your computer so fast and it will become a dual core with 2 lines of communication. So, what is the solution??? I’d love to hear what you’ve done, as for me, I guess I’m gonna suck it up and enjoy 64 bit speed and hope that someone, somewhere comes up with some kind of sensible solution.

On a totally off subject I have my daughters in a toddlers group and I have volunteered my house for a BBQ and pool party tomorrow. It should be fun. Looks like about 18 people are coming over so far. I don’t think I’ve ever had that many people in my house at one time, not even back in my party days. I know many of you are thinking, oh ugh, yikes, too many people… but I’m actually looking forward to seeing my little girls play with all their little friends and socializing with everyone. Anyway, it’s pretty late and my contacts are screaming to come out of my eyes, so I’ll talk at ya’all later!

Free Digital Scrapbooking Word Art for Autumn

Hope you enjoy this free digital scrapbooking Word Art for Autumn. I coordinated the colors for week 4’s Free Design It kits over at DAC. It says Autumn Makes Me Happy. The “makes me happy” is in white so it may be hard to see until you get it on your paper. Hope you enjoy, please leave me some love if you download and send your friends my way too! Thanks 🙂

Invalid Jpeg Markers – ever had one?

Well I’m totally excited that I created this kit for the DigitalArts-Cafe, Design It! contest:

Photobucket

But much to my dissapointment, I don’t know what the heck I’m doing with uploading, so I missed my deadline, again. These guys must wonder what kind of yahoo I am to have such problems!! In turn, my kit is not on the polls for everyone to vote, so I’ve worked so hard to get these kits made on time just to have problems with my file uploads, and to compromise my position in the competition, ugh.

Let me tell you how my last couple of days has gone! First off, I was doing great on time, really proud of myself. Everything was ready but Thurs night when I went to make a preview of my kit (as seen above) all the sudden I couldn’t see my paper files. So I had to stop everything and see what was going on. When I tried to open them, it said invalid jpeg marker. This was Thurs night, uh oh, everything is due Friday at 2 pm my time. Well last week I was late because I thought it was due at 5 pm my time (mix up from eastern standard to pacific).

So now I’m thinking no problem, I have the original, still layered files, I’ll just resave them. But it’s late and I’m tired, time for an energy drink. Meanwhile my stupid computer has been shutting down every 15-30 minutes, losing files if I hadn’t saved recently enough. No doubt from not enough RAM or laptop overheating, I don’t know. So I try to resave the files, nope still won’t save yet. So I stay up all night researching invalid jpeg markers and I do what it says with all 7 paper files… Take the psd files, flatten them and save as png. Take the png file and view it in windows, then save as jpegs. Great no problem (other than computer shutting itself down here and there) now its 4:30 am, all files have been converted. Might as well stay awake now, if I go to sleep I’ll never make the 2 o clock deadline, maybe if I stay up I can actually get this in early. I especially don’t want to be late since last week was a problem.

Now that all the jpegs are working, I try to make the preview page (like you see above) but my computer just wont let me do it, it keeps shutting down and I just can’t get anything done. Yikes! I’m running out of time. My mom (here visiting and buying a house) wakes up, “my goodness, you’re still up?” “Yeah Mom, I’m still up” She says “Well you better hurry up, you’re gonna miss deadline again” Of course, I blow, I’ve been up all night by now, no sleep, frustrated, can’t get it to work right, “what do you think I’ve been trying to do all night! Holy crap Mom”  It’s funny now that I write about it, now that I have hindsight.

Anyway, so Mom get’s her computer signed on and says “here, use mine, I have photoshop.” So I did and I was able to get the preview done (Thank God!), but by this time we are getting extremely close and I’m panicking, no sleep, haven’t eaten all night or day except 2 peices of toast (the fastest thing I could think of) can’t think straight. More coffee!

Still have to zip the files and it’s 12:30 noon. Ugh, can’t zip on Mom’s computer, needs software update or something, give up and take my hard drive and mouse back over to mine, maybe it’ll work now without shutting down since I’m not using photoshop and it’s had time to cool off. Wait for it to start up. Getting too close to 2. Yikes. They’re gonna hate me. I send over the preview since that’s at least done.

Okay, upload didn’t work, only took a half hour for it to tell me. It’s past 2 o clock by now. They hate me!! I suck, I stayed up for nothing!!!! AAAhhhhhhhh. Just want to bang my head against the wall. Okay, focus. Download a special uploader to make it faster, upload the files, it’ll work this time, it has to.

Nope, still didn’t work. Split the files up again to make the upload smaller, upload them, nope. Okay, something is definitely wrong here, the files are too big. Get an email from the website administrator, my paper file should be a max of 5 megs, holy crud, mine are 11 to 13 meg, way too big. Now I gotta resize them all 7 papers again, still no sleep, it’s about 3 pm. Ugh, they are really gonna think I’m a loser, I’m so late.

So I go get the jpeg file, save as jpeg, lower the quality of the photo to reduce the size, they are way too huge, save it again – invalid jpeg marker again. What the hell!! Hubby comes home, i tell him the situation, I’m dog tired by now it’s probably 4:30 pm. I realize one of my elements isn’t on the preview page. Go back to Mom’s computer, fix the preview page and in doing so, see that the element got flattened when I saved it and saved the white background, so it looks like crap – gotta go fix that, rezip the element file (which was the one that uploaded fine) and upload it so no one gets the messed up element.  I’m so late now, they probably won’t even accept my entry. We go back to researching because the files won’t save less than 10 megs. By now it’s 7 at night, I think.

I go rock the baby to sleep, fall asleep for about 10 minutes, Jason researches it online some more. He tries to fix it by trial and error. I figure all my files are corrupt and it’s just a lost cause, I feel totally defeated. All that work, all that staying up, all that time lost with my family for nothing, and who knows what Digitalarts-cafe thinks of me. I even took my very first kit off my own website to enter this contest, oh the depression. Baby is asleep, Jason calls me in and shows me to SAVE FILE FOR WEB, lower the quality to about 70% and VOILA!!! Halleluja!!! It works this way. No problems saving as jpegs, no problem seeing the thumbnail. Wow, at least I didn’t do all that work for nothing, at least my files are good. Awesome! I go back to my Mom’s computer with my hard drive and mouse again and resave ALL 7 papers again, save for web, 70 percent. Take it all back to my computer, ZIP them up, and upload – what!!  OH MY GOODNESS, it only takes 15 minutes to upload!! wish I knew that before, then I would have known there was a problem last week. Files uploaded- I send over the links at 8:43 pm. Done finally.

Today I woke up and looked online at DigitalArts-cafe, , bummer I sent it in way too late. It’s not posted with the others. I missed voting polls, and my kit isn’t up – and it’s my fault for sending it in so late and not knowing about zipping. On the positive side, I wanted to do this contest to learn. And, well, I’m learning!

Today is better already. I SLEPT! lol. We have a birthday party to go to and it’s time to go get ready, it will definitely be a better day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACOB!

Happy Birthday Freebie

Here is a Happy Birthday Freebie. I made this picture to send as a happy birthday card to friends and family, quite some time ago. Here is a copy for you to enjoy as well. You can use it as an e-card, print it out yourself with your own message, or send it to Costco or one of those places that prints cards!

Freebie Expired

Finally Another Digital Freebie

In order to get this one, you’ll have to head on over to www.DigitalArts-cafe.com, introduce yourself, and then make four more posts in the forums (community). Once you’ve done that, for a total of 5 posts, you will have access to the secret forums where you can download 10 free mini kits (mine included).

Here’s a preview of what I made. I really wanted to make a lot more for this kit to offer for sale later or as a freebie, but simply didn’t have the time. Kids came down with a cold, baby has been teething and got tied up with some real estate stuff. I am dissappointed, I really wanted to make some extra goodies: gold filigree corners, a key and key hole, a word art, a ribbon and bow, buttons and some special frames to go with the heritage theme, but there just wasn’t enough time. Also, there’s a new competition next week, so Friday there will be 10 more free mini digital scrapbooking kits. Hope to see you there! Oh, and don’t forget to vote, they will be polling to see who’s kit is the best! I’d love to read your comments, let me know what you think of it!

Fillin’ ya in

Okay, so of course I haven’t felt like writing lately. I miss my cat. He was a good cat. Probably the best cat ever, in his younger years. We had Mogley since before we had kids, before we were married, and yes since before we even graduated highschool. We picked him out from a litter of kittens (from Don, Jason’s bro.) Mogley was the runt of the litter and boy did he walk funny. Kind of like a car with really huge back wheels and really small front wheels, or like the child Mogley in the jungle book. It was pretty funny watching him walk, but you probably had to be there to understand.

He lived with Jason until we got our own apartment together. He was a nice welcome home everyday at our apartment. He kept Jason company while I went away to bootcamp for the Air Force. He was the source of many exciting play sessions – wiggle a finger -dodge his paw or bleed! Yes, it was not abnormal for us to get an ass kicken many a night, by our precious, super cool cat! For many years, it was just us, me, Mogley and Jason. Several times we caught him just laying near our neice – you could just tell he was watching over her. Many years later, our own babies. You know, he even did this cool thing, he use to jump from the floor to our chest if we called him up, then sit on our shoulder like a parrot or something – sniffing around in our hair. Or, he’d jump up to Jason’s hair, wet from showering, and lick it dry as if he was a mama cat cleaning her baby. Funny. You could hear his meow from real far away. He could really belt ’em out. Sometimes he’d even pop his head up to your mouth if you’d say to him “kiss me”. He was a real cool cat. Always strong, always fun, always respected.

Three amazing things happened these last couple of weeks! First: The other day, my One year old went uckies in the toilet for the first time (same day mogley passed.) Yes, she’s gifted! Lol. Second: Yesterday my 3 year old dove all the way to the bottom of our 8 foot deep pool to retrieve a swimming weight at the bottom of the pool. Talk about impressive. We were all so shocked to see that she could do that. Third: Our backyard landscaping is completely done! Hallelujah. No more desert rock crap to look at. There’s actually some greenery!

Other than that, I have not been at the computer much. I have not scrapped hardly at all and I’m having withdrawals!! Ahhhhhh, what am I gonna do. I don’t foresee anything in the near future either as we will be hosting a bbq at my house for my cousins birthday party. Oh yes, one more amazing thing – My 3 year old is learning to read. She is sounding words out and reading them from this book called Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. Right now she can read: This, Mom, Rat, Ran, Man, Ram, Rack, See, Meet, is, The, a, Sad, Sam, Read and more. I thing that’s pretty amazing for a 3 and a half year old. And every day she is learning more. Some lady at the park told me about her 2 and a half year old reading and suggested the book. Amazingly it is working in a wonderful way. She is learning not to memorize the words, but to actually sound them out. It is still quite a lot of work and she really has to sit and concentrate, but I’m so proud of her. I know your not suppose to reward with sweets or food, but it is one of the only incentives, other than a reward chart that helps her to focus on pushing through when it gets difficult. I find gummy worms work well!

So, it’s late, I gotta go get some sleep if I want to survive tomorrow with these two kids, real estate, parents and puppy in town, grumpy overworked husband, plannning a birthday party for my cousin, doing laundry, cleaning up and keeping the peace….. Dozing off at the computer.. definitely done now! Night!

R.I.P Kitty

Mogley
Beloved Cat
May 1, 1994 – Aug 22, 2008

May you forever feel a spring breeze blowing by.
We love you.

Added later:

I don’t do these very often so I thought I would share. This is a layout of our cat Mogley. He died last October 22nd 2008 but he is with us in all of our memories. In his day he was a bad ass mouse and bird catchin’ cat. This cat was there when Jason and I were dating, when we got our first place together, when we got married, when I joined the Air Force, when we got our first house, when my Grandmother died, when I completed my tour, when my neices and nephew were born, when my kids were born. Anyway, enjoy this traditional layout, made it with his old poloroid picture.

traditional layout:

Honeys we’re home!

Yes two weeks has gone by already and it sure was fast. While it was a great vacation, it’s just nice to be home. Of course, now that we are home it’s back to the grind. I’ve got some real estate to catch up on and I have come home with so many fresh ideas for designing digitals. I’ve got loads of laundry and the girls… Well, there’s never enough time in a day…

So, if only all of you could’ve seen the girls when we got home. My 3 year old was almost shaking with excitment shouting “yay” and my One year old was climbing on her toys and clapping saying “yay”. Talk about soo cute.

You might notice that PicNic Parade kit is not for sale anymore. I’m entering a designers contest at the DigitalArts-Cafe and in order to be in compliance with the rules, I had to remove the kit for sale. Everyone wish me good luck, and if you like – go register and vote for your favorites all this month!

My cat Mowgly isn’t doing so good these days. He’s 14 years old. That’s pretty old for a cat. His coat that was once a beautiful shiny black is now scraggly black and grey and so thin you can see his under fur. We’ve had Mowgly since he was a baby. He can hardly walk on his back legs, he can’t lift his tail up anymore. He is all skin and bones. I have to make him special rice and chicken meals just to get him to eat. We’ve had him since 1994 and the thought of losing him makes me very sad. I think back and remember how he was when he was young. What a wonderful companion. He always seamed to know when we needed a buddy to quietly sit with or a friend to play mouse with. He use to lovingly bring mice and birds to Jason’s feet, what a hunter he was in his day. Soon, very soon, we will have to put him to sleep. He is terrified to go to the vet. We don’t want his last moments in life to be spent in terror so we will probably have to have a mobile vet come to the house to put him down. It’s a struggle to figure out when to put your cat down. His hips and back legs are definitely in pain, he looks like he’s starving to death, he throws up anything other than chicken rice, but could he maybe just die of old age? That would be a better way to go. It’s definitely a mental struggle. On this sad note, I will go. Until next time –

Blessings to all,
Vivayne

PICNIC PARADE ADD-ON

Posted

Okay, finally the pics are posted and we’re still on vacation. How do you like that? Well today and tomorrow we are going to Sea World again to catch all the stuff we missed the first day. Yes, I’ll try to post those pics too! So today we are getting a late start. We’re going to do Sea World at Night. I hear they have some spoof shows etc. Also, we wanted to let the girls get some rest this morning (and us too!) That being said, I better go get ready. We’ll leave as soon as the little one wakes up! Catch up with ya later!

Can you say tired?

So here we are in San Diego California. We spent all day yesterday at Sea World. All that walking, in the heat – I guess it takes it out of you! What were we thinking when we bought 5 day passes? Today we went to the Wild Animal Park. That was a lot of walking. But we did feel like we were on Safari 🙂 Oh my goodness, we have 3 more days of this. We leave in the morning and come home at night. Tomorrow is our visit to the zoo. Then it’s back to Sea World to see everything we missed the first day. Wow. The kids are having a blast though. We are giving them all of our attention and spending the day out in nature. Today they rode on the most awesome carousel ever. It had every wild animal you can think of. My 3 year old rode on an Opaki (cousin to the Zebra) and a Rhino and my little 1 year old rode on a giant Rabbit that looked like a Jackalope. It’s really refreshing to be spending the days with Jason, rather than him working every day. I see great things in him. He’s really a sweetie pie and pleasant to be around. Spending this vacation together reminds me again, of how lucky I feel to have him and to have him as a father to my girls. Sometimes we get caught up in everyday life and forget to have fun. How important is it to have fun everyday? It’s hard to even think about that when you’re just trying to get through the days with two little ones and raise them to be right. But, what about fun everyday? If we focused on having a little more fun… well life could be a lot better! Well, I’m tired, gonna turn in.

August Already?

Wow, how can it be August already! Time sure flies and I’m having fun. Yahoo, we’re on vacation! Right now I’m hangin’ out in Sweetwater California enjoying the weather (much better than the normal 106 degrees at 8:30 pm, that I’m use to.) I just got the digital purchases up and running and the Freebie is there for all to enjoy.  Now, with all things new, I’m sure there may be some minor set backs in transfering said files, but we’ll pray for everything to run smoothly instead. And of course I’ll be watching closely to make sure everyone is taken care of. If I get enough response to these digitals, I’ll be setting up file downloading to be much faster and easier. I just don’t want to put out a lot of expense unless or untill I know that the digitals are actually popular!

Plans for this week, relax a little more and enjoy the weather, go to the beach and stick my toes in the sand with my man, play catch with my 3 year old play ditch the wave with both of my girls, go to Sea World, the Zoo, and the Wild Animal Park and take walks around the trails and beautiful scenery here. I should have plenty of great pics for scrapping by the time I’m done and of course, as usual, never enough time to scrap them all. I’d like to start working on the next kit design, already have a color palet in mind, but I really need to pull myself away from the computer and spend some memory making time with my family. So maybe I’ll make time to update again later, but for now, bid me happy vacationing and take care.

Take a Look!

Why? …

So today is Jason’s day off and he decided to take our 3 yr old out for some special one on one time together.  She has never been to the movies and they are going to see Kung Fu Panda. Here I am getting much needed quiet time, at the house trying to figure out how this whole blog thing works while my 1 yr old naps, and then this text arrives:
Why is it dark, why does the seat fold, why is no one here? When does the movie start Daddy? Are we the first ones here? 😀
She must be going a mile a minute with excitement, even at the movie theater. I just love these text messages.

The Beginning

Well this is the beginning of my Blog. My online name is Vivayne. Mother of 2, married to Jason (Superhusband). We’ve been married since 1995. Yep, that long, high school sweethearts (Yerington High School, NV). And it’s been great. We decided to finally have kids 10 years later. What took so long? Well, let’s ask him! Just kidding, we were busy establishing ourselves, having fun being young. My first daughter, 2 yrs old now, she was born at the hospital. I wanted an all natural birth but was quickly talked out of that. My next daughter, 1 year old now, was born at home with a wonderful midwife and revolutionary labor and birth technique – Lydi Owens www.powerbirth.com. As a new family, we’ve pretty much hit the ground running and haven’t stopped since.

So, Jason practically grew up in church – had to go. Now he doesn’t go. On the other hand, I went here and there, so I was nervous every time I went but I’m not shy –  so I got over it. As a teenager, young adult I never really went to church. Even as an adult, it wasn’t really for me. But I have found a place I like to go on Sundays. It’s pretty laid back, the people are friendly and the pastor is funny… no… entertaining… okay informative j/k 🙂  I do like that I have a place to go to keep focused on the better parts of life, God (of course), and my children will grow up with all the good stuff.

I have hobbies. Lots of hobbies. I love athletics (softball mostly), and crafting, scrapbooking, cross stitching, sketching, painting, and well just about everything except mechanics. That’s where Jason comes in. He picks up where I leave off! He has what I don’t and hopefully I am the same for him. If that makes sense. I also like to swim, ride horses, do watersports out on the lake, and hang out with family doing fun new stuff. I work in Las Vegas as a Realtor. Jason is a manager of a meat department at a major warehouse company.

I started digital scrapbooking fairly recently (1 year or 2). I’ve really taken to it. It’s so easy to undo a mess-up or change your mind and make it different. I love that. And once in the swing of things, it really doesn’t take so long to do scrap pages. It does, however, take me a really long time to do the design part. I love digital freebies and thought, here’s my chance to give back, and maybe make some money too.  I guess we’ll see where this takes me! So keep your eyes out for digital scrapbooking freebies here. I’ve got a kit now that I’m working on for release July. Running a little late but I think it will be worth the wait. That’s for you to decide, you’ll have to let me know!
