Happy Thanksgiving – Heres a digital scrapbooking freebie!

Hiya all,

I hope you have a wonderful day planned with your family or friends! We will be going over to my Aunt and Cousin’s house to have dinner there. We usually have it here at my house, so I am looking forward to going somewhere else this year! What’s on the menu???

Turkey, stuffing, turnups, candied yams, red cabbage, baked mac & cheese, green bean caserole, creamed spinache, pumpkin pie, whipped cream, homemade cranberry sauce, sparkling apple cider… and who knows what else!

And yes we will have a full house. Let’s see, we will have 12 people total! That’s 7 adults and 5 kids, wow.

Amazing Babies

Okay, if you have kids or have friends or family with kids, you have to see this video. Talk about amazing! As a mother I was astonished and relieved.

Watch this AMAZING VIDEO showing ISR trained babies, about baby drowning prevention!

I don’t know if it’s just me and I’m a sap, or if it because my hormones are running wild from this pregnancy, or if it chokes anyone else up… so I guess you’ll have to leave me a comment and let me know if I’m not alone out here, lolol.

You may want to come back soon, very soon, because I have a freebie ready for you. It will be a double layout again, and it’s my favorite digital scrapbooking spread out of all of them. Saved the best for last 🙂

After that, I think I will be posting an awesome wordart for the Holiday, that was made for a gal by the name of Carol, who wanted to make tags for a cancer free celebration for her nephew. Prayers out for you Carol, for your nephew to remain cancer free.

I made them so you can use them over and over again on many layouts. Please don’t let them sit in your file not getting used!! Like so many of us do 🙂 Take the time to Record your family’s events!!

Corn Starch Anyone?

So you want a good laugh:

I’m working away on my computer getting ready to add another freebie, and I look over to check on my daughter (1 and a half yrs old) and what is she doing?

She’s covered in cornstarch, aawwwkk!! Oh but not a little cornstarch, the whole box of cornstarch. What in the world would she be doing with that, you say? Well we keep it in a basket next to her area, along with diapers and wipes and use it on her when she starts to get a rash (it’s better than baby powder for sure, yes)

By now she’s covered her little dark baby in it, so much that the baby looks white now. It’s in a pile next to her, on top of her and all around her, and I figure, whatever, she’s already playing in it… and it’s keeping her entertained so I’ll just clean it up in a little bit, I mean it can’t get any worse than this right.

WRONG! Boy was I wrong, LMAO. Of course, it’s funny just looking at it, like, well that’s what I get for turning my head, and other thoughts like ‘what was I thinking not cleaning it up right away?.’ Yes the little pile that she sat in went from a 2 foot radius to about a 4 or 5 foot radius. So you know, in my house, the shark (vacuum cleaner) does all the mess pick ups. I’ll just go get the Shark, it’ll magically fix this. Oh that was fun too, now I have a 6 foot radius and a treasure trail of cornstarch to the trash can. Oh yes, I have handled this well. LOL.  

You didn’t know I was wearing dark clothes today either… Yep, black pants, now with little white handprints all over them. Lap covered in cornstarch from her pants. Dark shirt covered in cornstarch because of course we can’t go 20 minutes without her climbing all over me. Yikes… but at this point, it’s just like whatever, what a mess, why get upset, you know? So, I have cleaned up the mess, well sort of: the white is still all over their play mats, and I wiped those up with wet paper towels, but I’ve wasted enough tree/paper for the day, so I give up, lol. Kids, they just steamroll you, huh!! lololol!

The one suprising benefit to all this, my mouse feels extremely luxurious in my right hand now 🙂

Thanksgiving Journal Card Freebies

Ok, so I made these for myself but I am sharing them with you too 🙂 Too often we let the little details go.

For example my Grandmother, Rosa Christie (she’s passed away now) put on a HUGE spread every year for every holiday. I never really liked to cook and never thought to follow her around, so when she passed away, many of those wonderful recipes were lost. Now my Aunt makes most of the Holiday food in her footsteps, to carry on our traditions. And most everything tasts like Grandmas. So this is my chance to record the special foods that we eat.

Many of the foods we eat are of German descent, gamese, german potato salad, the way we make our turnups. We also like to have turkey, baked mac n cheese (totally homemade), gravy, sweet potatos, stuffing, green bean caserole, and spinache. Sometimes we’ll also have mashed potatos, for my husband, or dinner rolls. The one thing we’d be lost without is the Baked Mac and Cheese, everyone’s favorite ;0) And being pregnant and always hungry, I’m really looking forward to our holiday meals!

Anyway, I made these freebies to record our Tradtional Family Foods for the holidays. You can use them as recipe cards or to list what’s on your table. I plan on printing them right up on card stock so I can write on them as I go.

This is a great way to record a tradition we all may take for granted and document something that our children’s children will appreciate being able to see. I kept the colors nuetral for you so that hopefully you can use them with any of your holiday layouts! Also I made wordarts to go with them, I will release them in a couple of days so keep an eye out.

Hi all,
I haven’t written in quite some time, I’m sorry for that. I’ve just felt down in the dumps from this pregnancy, really tired and [grumble, grumble] just flat out cruddy. Getting headaches from the hormone changes etc, so sitting at the computer for long periods of time is sickening, literally. I’m so tired of hearing myself complain that I have to stop now and get on with the good stuff: FREEBIES!!

DigitalArts-Cafe was kind enough to add me to their Circle of Trust, and I was able to have their Holiday Traditions Collaberation Kit to make some freebies for you, yay!
